Frequently asked questions
Is Cloudflare an EU operator?+
No. Cloudflare's current enterprise agreement identifies Cloudflare, Inc., a Delaware company, as the contracting party. Its global network and European facilities do not change that operator jurisdiction.
Does Cloudflare's Data Localization Suite cover Email Service?+
Cloudflare's current localization overview and region-support documentation describe controls for TLS keys, HTTP traffic processing, logs, and analytics. They do not list Email Service, so confirm product-specific coverage rather than assuming those controls extend to email.
Where is inbound email stored with Cloudflare?+
Email Routing forwards a message to a verified address or hands it to a Worker. Persistent storage is something you design with Cloudflare storage and queue services, so each selected service and jurisdiction setting becomes part of the review.
What does the CLOUD Act mean here?+
The CLOUD Act clarified that a covered US provider must comply with valid US legal process for data in its possession, custody, or control, including data stored abroad. It does not provide automatic government access.
Why consider Postscale instead?+
